The new semester has arrived as scheduled and we shall strive hard to illuminate our dreams! At 8 A.M. on the morning of 24th February, at the Lecture Hall, Anqing Foreign Language School observed the grand opening of the term beginning working conference in the second semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. All the teaching and administrative staff from both the east and west campuses gathered together spiritedly. At the conference, Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli delivered a keynote speech with the title of ‘Happiness Illuminates Anqing Foreign Language School in 2018’.
In the first place, when the conference started, President Madam Huang Wenli was quoted as saying, ‘It feels so good that school begins again. People who strive hard are blessed. The working people are gorgeous’. Then, Madam President told us something from the QQ Group of Anqing Foreign Language School’s staff. The words were from the bottom of teacher Zhou Zaishou’s heart who came to Anqing Foreign Language School to devote all the energy to the educational career after retirement. Nonetheless, Zhou Zaishou had to leave with regrets due to his physical reason after four months’ work. Zhou Zaishou was reluctant to part. He was deeply touched by dribs and drabs from school. For instance, he spoke highly of Anqing Foreign Language School’s harmonious humanity, graceful surroundings, the perfect order of management, pure school spirit, dedicated teachers in addition to hardworking students. Therefore, each faculty member was deeply impressed by his compassion and warmheartedness. Afterwards, Madam President mentioned that when we looked back, we could tell every step was firm and vigorous. Teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School were indeed happy and proud.
In the second place, in 2018, happiness would illuminate Anqing Foreign Language School! In combination with the school development, President Madam Huang Wenli spoke glowingly of the viewpoint on happiness with profundity and an easy-to-understand approach. Anqing Foreign Language School rose in great vigor through innovation and always regarded campus security as priority. We paid high attention to Senior High School Entrance Examination and College Entrance Examination as well. In addition, moral education was orderly implemented. What’s noteworthy was that the four-culture activity showcased civilized campus landscape, which were classroom culture, office culture, corridor afforestation and the culture of desks and chairs. Other than that, the three-habit campaign, which were the habits of reading, writing and sleeping at night, promoted students’ quality, which presented a refreshing appearance in the teaching area. Moreover, the running exercise during the daily morning exercises was spectacular and extremely effective. Also, Anqing Foreign Language School’s campus became more fabulous and harmonious owing to plenty of high-quality activities such as head teachers’ storytelling and the Home-School Forum.
In the third place, President Madam Huang Wenli highly affirmed the year 2017 when industrious and cooperative teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School achieved fruitful results one after another. For example, we won the honorary title of ‘Advance Unit of Creating a National Civilized City’. We were assessed 4A Level by the social organizations of Anqing City. Meanwhile, we obtained first prize in the 5th Session Micro Film Competition initiated by the Education and Sports Bureau in Anqing City. What’s more, Anqing Foreign Language School was awarded the honorary title of ‘Beacon School in terms of Publicity and Education of Fire Protection in Anqing City’. Anqing Foreign Language School was evaluated A Level in catering industry in Anqing municipality. Furthermore, a great many teachers were awarded prizes in Teachers’ Skills Contest and High-Quality Class Competition both in provincial and municipal levels. Evidently, the work in each department was steady and solid. Everyone was full of youthful spirit when the flowers were in full bloom. Happiness in Anqing Foreign Language School came from striving.
In the fourth place, looking forward to the new year, we expected brand new development. President Madam Huang Wenli put forward the job objectives in 2018, laying emphasis on several important tasks in the new semester. As the saying goes, preparedness ensures success and unpreparedness spells failure. Madam President specially pointed out that we should pay attention to the development of school connotation, optimize routine work, elevate teaching quality and quality-oriented education parallelly, improve boarding services, break through difficulties and innovate management thinking, which required all teachers to come down to earth, make persistent efforts, promote Anqing Foreign Language School’s education to a new height and create new glories. Madam President hoped each and every one to stay true to the mission, forge ahead and gain countless happiness from school.
In a nutshell, President Madam Huang Wenli’s keynote speech was down to earth, which touched us deeply. Her modest innermost thoughts and feelings offered us a profound lesson. We listened attentively and expressed successively that we were enlightened and stimulated tangibly. God help those who help themselves and everything changes with each passing day. We are sure that all our wonderful faculty members from Anqing Foreign Language School shall compose incredible chapters with their endeavor. The flowers outside are in elegant bloom and we will set sail soon. We firmly believe that industrious teachers from Anqing Foreign Language School shall create education miracles one after another with their intelligence!
